MY THOUGHTS
Previously titled 'Loving Lola', I found this story on Wattpad while sitting in the waiting room of the doctor's office. Be forewarned, if you are not into dark romance, tragic relationships, this book is NOT for you. It was #1 in mental abuse and dark romance for a reason.
However, this is one of the best crafted stories I have read in a long time. The plot could be told in a single sentence and would work for most other books out there in the romance genre, but it is the characters and their interwoven developments and the author's brand of writing that pulls you into the reaches of their souls. Both main characters are perceptive and particular in how they live their lives. Their honesty while you are in their heads is a heady experience that is strengthened by the author's delicious flow and style of writing.
The poisonous vines of control between two broken individuals are enticing to say the least, and I found it near impossible to put down once I started - needing to know what makes the characters tick. Even though their relationship was/is one of destruction, you still want them to somehow find peace and be happy together.
I am already reading #2 in the series, 'Never Tell Secrets', because I HAVE to know that there is a HEA for these two people.
